About me

Hi my name is Bonkhe Nkonyane

I’m an African Canadian, from Eswatini, a small country in South Africa, I lived there till I was 5 until my parents decided to move to Toronto Canada.

I spent most of my life in the Toronto culture, soon forgetting how to speak my natural birth language and Adopting a more natural English way of speaking but one thing I never forgot was how to understand my natural language. Ever since I was a kid I’ve always been a more friendly, creative and optimistic type of person and I feel through the years I’ve learned how to hone those parts of me to be my strong suites

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) - Central Technical School

- Determination

Determination was definitely one of my personal skills that I cherish more than my personality, because all throughout high school I believed I ducked at school or I was just bad at it, but now that I look back at any moment I gave up it wouldn’t be long until I got back up and tried figuring something out.

An example I can use for this would be when I thought I’d fail my essay in my English university classes. The topic we were writing on was very philosophical so getting a good understanding of it was an importance of mine but it was like whenever I tried to I’d just end up writing gibberish so I took a two day break and came back to it, after that I started asking for help from my teacher and things got a bit easier form their

The diploma the years that I spent at central tech I earning taught me a lot of inter personal skills through, amazing highlights and moments and very important issues and problems that shaped me to be better.

- Networking

Through the years of me being at central tech I’d made my main goal to make a lot of friends and know almost everyone in the school and I achieved this through talking to students around me, helping others in need and also developing my personality to be more well rounded.

This somehow became something I was sort of was known for as  being the person that every quote on quote knew, someone who in whatever place they were at they’d at least know someone you didn’t.

 Skills

- Perseverance

My perverseness is very evident whenever I work on something and I can’t figure it out, something I try and try until I’m fully Able too. This came through years of dealing with failures and  unsuccessful attempts at friendships or my academics. So through those years I figured how to pick myself up through taking small breaks or just power through it.

- Communication

My Communication definitely coincides with my personal experience of talking to people and getting to know them more,  being in team settings and learning to network. I feel this would be a very important skill in any case because with communication issues will happen

- Team work

On the topic of teamwork with my approachable personality and different community’s that I’ve been pleased to be apart of an experience, that being in a team or adapt to a teamwork type of an environment would come easier to me since I’m always interested in learning new perspectives of seeing things along with me being open minded.

- Creativity

Creativity has also been a strong focus of mine whether it’s making art, reading or writing. But  in the sense of a skill I’d say I bring newer ways of thinking about things whilst also being level headed/ realistic if I need to.
